Scene selects from Dirty Old Wedge (Directed by Tim Burnham & Hunt House Pictures)
Listen to the original score by Benjamin Messelbeck
I met director Tim Burnham by chance when our dogs started playing together at a park. After talking for about 15 minutes, we came to realize that we played AYSO soccer together as kids. He told me about this film he was working on and his trials and tribulations with music. I told Tim that I am a musician and maybe I could help. A few days later, he asked if I could do the score for DOW…in 20 days. I said yeah I can do that.
Tim and the guys at Hunt House Pictures are great at what they do and I love working with them. We are working together on another film called Part of Water, scheduled for release in 2019.
Dirty Old Wedge is a documentary film showcasing the history of the Wedge, a world famous, man-made beast of a wave located at the end of the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, California. Starting from its creation in the 1930's, a unique assemblage of bodysurfers known as the "Wedge Crew" help tell this tale, highlighting their relationships with the wave and with one another.
